19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been won on hard surfaces
A comeback the Russian player won his initial trophy for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The athlete, a ex- world number one, has had a torrid period, achieving just one win at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.
The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually splitting with former mentor his previous coach.
Presently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's initial championship after the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface since March of the previous year.
Success also means he has secured twenty-one titles at 21 various events.
"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my two daughters together, so to secure a trophy is really nice," stated world number 14 the champion.
"This championship is in tribute of my child her name, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, including in the German tournament earlier this year.
Medvedev's retrieving strategy and regular reactions on the tennis court had caused commentators to question if his ability to compete at the elite level was over.
But the player has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and perform positively, reinforced by an improved service.
Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, securing 4 of the final five games to go ahead.
Both players swapped breaks in the second set before the challenger, striving for his maiden tour championship, took control to push for a third set.
He saved four early chances in a competitive deciding set before the Russian won the break to 15 to serve for the match.
Fittingly, the winner secured the title with a rally at the net area, with Moutet incapable to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
